On the Wine Route of the Pisan Hills by bike
Our route will start from Casciana Terme in the direction of Chianni, from where we reach Terricciola, the "City of Wine" and heart of the Wine Route, passing through the village of Rivalto, known for its chestnuts. This is the highest and most scenic point of the route from which the view sweeps from Monte Serra to Volterra.
After about 4 km of descent, winding in the first part and wide and scenic in the second, the ascent to Terricciola, the heart of the Wine Route, begins. We will leave the village behind on the ridge heading north.
We will then arrive in Lari, a fortified village known for the Castello dei Vicari; in quick succession we will cross Crespina, Fauglia and Casciana Alta, which we can reach after about 3 km of pleasant and scenic climb... a few more kilometers and we will be back in Casciana Terme, the starting point for other bike itineraries in the Terre di Pisa.
