Patent 4 passes Mugello Center

Some of the most beautiful passes of the Mugello area by bike
by  Mugello

This route tackles one of Mugello's most beautiful mountain areas and some of the most fascinating passes in the entire area, including the spectacular Pass of the Sambuca, with its 1,061 meters the highest, among the main passes, of this side of the Appenines. In addition, the valley of the Santerno between Firenzuola and Coniale is gorgious and here you can ride at the bottom of a real canyon with high rock walls.

The physical strain is considerable: in just - so to speak - 92 kilometers, you ride above almost 2,100 meters in height. The gradients never exceed 10-11% on the long climbs and for the toughest ramps a 39/25 or equivalent compact is sufficient, but with 3 of the 4 passes reaching 10 kilometers in length and for the last one, the Prato all'Albero, although very short, having significant gradients, it is necessary to ride with light gears and always keep a supply of energy.

There are no support services on the mountain stretch of the route, and given the height you’ll reach, we recommend you carry a cape at all times.
