The Ardita, permanent cycle-touring itinerary
Step by step, ride by ride, solo, tandem or together with the whole family, among the wonders of Arezzo's art and history, from Piazza Grande as far as the imposing Vasari Aqueduct to then ride through the the spectacular realm of water and biodiversity of the Nature Reserve of Ponte Buriano and Penna. Pausing to admire the Mona Lisa Bridge by Leonardo Da Vinci, an ancient giant that sinks its feet into the course of the Arno, and with its mighty arches has been able to overcome the fire of a thousand battles, until it appeared in the Valdarno, and then off to discover the Romanesque parish churches and the medieval villages of the lower Casentino, Capolona and Subbiano passing through Castiglion Fibocchi, Pieve San Giovanni and Casavecchia.
But it is only on the way back to Arezzo that the real challenge begins: are you ready to plunge into the wild nature of the Alpe di Poti to experience the thrill of the hillclimbing of champions? Once at the top it will then be downhill all the way back to Piazza Grande.
A path to experience and share all year round.
