The Gualdo Ring
After a good breakfast, set off from the center of Lucca, admiring its monuments and piazzas. Continue to Ponte San Pietro, a charming medieval village nestled in the Tuscan countryside, where you can stop to visit the ancient Roman bridge, a testament to local legend.
The trail begins to climb along dirt paths and roads, offering up spectacular views of the valley below. The challenging but accessible climbs will test your skills, while the fun descents allow you to fully enjoy the adrenaline rush of mountain biking.
Then, reach the medieval village of Gualdo, perched at the top of a hill, immersed in a unique atmosphere. Take the time to visit the Romanesque Parish Church of San Lorenzo to be enchanted by the panoramic views from the medieval tower.
After a restorative stop in Gualdo, the route heads back to Lucca, skirting Monte Ghilardona and Fibbialla. The trail then winds through lush forests and green meadows, giving you glimpses of extraordinary beauty. This route unites nature, history and adventure, on a must-do experience for mountain bikers.
