An easy route to the spring of the Reno River
Just a few steps from the city of Pistoia, on the Pistoia Mountains, with the arrival of autumn the woods turn yellow and orange and the spectacle of foliage enchants both adults and children. There are many itineraries that unfold among the valleys of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, from those for expert hikers to those suitable for everyone.
From Prunetta, in the municipality of San Marcello Piteglio, starts this short walk that will take us to the spring of the Reno River. An easy trail, ideal for families with children.
From the center of the village of Prunetta (958 m), our destination can be easily reached from Via Le Lari, halfway between the local Pro Loco office and the church of San Basilio. Proceeding slightly uphill, the road becomes unpaved and after about half a kilometer we reach our destination (960 m). The spring is a suitable place for a pleasant stop, with a picnic area and a fountain, which you can draw from to refresh yourself. The return to Prunetta takes place on the same path.
