Antonio Furi's painting exhibition at Palazzo Chigi

From December 02, 2023 to February 28, 2024, the splendid setting of Palazzo Chigi in San Quirico d'Orcia will host the solo exhibition of painter Antonio Furi, "Amber Orpheus: all that you left behind", a journey through 30 paintings inspired by the myth of Orpheus and in particular R. M. Rilke's sonnet "Orpheus, Eurydice, and Hermes".

Can one leave everything behind and start anew?
This is the question posed by artist Antonio Furi to which he will give answers and expressions through his paintings.

The exhibition is structured in 3 parts, or rather 3 different and equal landscapes as in a journey with a dreamlike nature.
The technique is figurative, colorful and takes up themes from German expressionism and Italian magic realism (Casorati, Viani, Grosz, Dix, Kubin).

Antonio Furi has been a painter and performer since the 1980s, studied theater and painting in Florence, Paris and Arles. He has been exhibiting regularly since 2000, mainly in Emilia Romagna and Tuscany, where he resides.

Opening - Saturday, December 2, 6 p.m.
Vernissage - Friday, December 8, 4 p.m.
