BluEtrusco is an original festival of Etruscan culture that takes place just a few kilometers from Siena, in the beautiful town of Murlo, home to one of the most important Etruscan archaeological settlements in Italy, Poggio Civitate, whose archaeological finds are housed in the town's archaeological museum.
BluEtrusco is a journey of discovery of the ancient Etruscans through historical re-enactments, educational workshops, guided tours, trekking, lectures and rediscovery of Etruscan craft techniques and foods.
During the festival, the ancient village of Murlo is transformed into a real Etruscan village, within which visitors can take a close look at scenes of daily life and participate in educational workshops dedicated to forging bronze objects, making terracotta slabs for roof decoration, making perfumes and ointments, writing and religious worship.
Ample space is also devoted to music, with encounters between ancient and contemporary genres, and historical lectures and insights, with experts, researchers, archaeologists and scholars.
BluEtrusco is also an opportunity to taste recipes and dishes inspired by the oldest flavors and rediscover Etruscan wine.
